Everything new is well-forgotten old! Exhibition “Second Chance” demonstrates how recycling turns used items into new attractive products which help to save limited resources and protect the environment: here you'll find jewelry made of Toyota car glass; copper earrings from small change; colored coats from Soviet children's blankets or heart-shaped brooches from Soviet enamel pots; recycled jeans´ yarn sweaters; coats made of military tents; seats of skateboard or recycled plastic bottles; old leather jackets turned into bags etc. Estonia is one of the countries that has effectively dealt with recycling during the Soviet occupation.

At the exhibition you can see design solutions from such well-known Estonian designers as Marit Ilison, Reet Aus, Kairi Lentsius, Angela Orgusaar, Urmas Lüüs, Sille Luiga, Kalli Sein, Raili Keiv, Margot Vaaderpass, Tarmo Luisk, Elmet Treier, SEOS, Igor Volkov, Eva-Karlotta Tatar, Leonardo Meigas, Anne Türn and Laura Saks. The tableware and accessories designed by the students of ceramics, glass, jewelry and wrought iron at the Estonian Academy of Arts for the Fotografiska restaurant will also be presented. The premiere of the exhibition was at the Venice Design Biennale on June 11—20, 2021. The curator of the exhibition and the author of the visuals is Ilona Gurjanova, the exhibition was designed by Leonardo Meigas.
