"Travelling Talks" is the first in a series of events introducing inspiring people who have promoted cultural life all over Estonia. Often stemming from grassroots movements, these citizen initiatives have enriched culture and brought life into remote places that are situated away from regional capitals.
After the introduction from
Ilona Gurjanova, the founder of Tallinn Design Festival, the
Buddhist monks living in Aegna, Slovenian urbanist
Matej Nikšič,
Mari Kalkun from Viitina,
Ave Alavainu from Kärdla, the rejuvenator of Põhjala Factory
Liisi Serk,
Aljona Suržikova from Käru and
Taavi Tamberg from Lindi Külaselts present their stories. The event is part of the European project SMOTIES (Human Cities - Creative works with small and remote places).
The event will be moderated by the designer
Karl Joonas Alamaa.
